There are 1440 minutes in every day, and each day brings with it opportunities to serve God by serving others. We desire to make the most of each day by being obedient to God and being good stewards of our time. We, as a church have chosen a group of ministries that we support with our time, our finances and our prayers. We believe we are called to support the ministry efforts of other ministries as well as our own, joining together in Christ for the good of others and ultimately, the Gospel. “Do not neglect to do good and to share in what you have , for such sacrifices are pleasing to God,” Hebrews 13:16. We welcome your support.
Founded during the 2013-2014 school year by Pastor, Scott Collins, Backpack Buddies provides children from food-insecure homes with healthy weekend meals during the school year. The children, selected by school principals and guidance counselors, receive a backpack containing balanced meals and snacks at the end of every week. Back Pack Buddies serves the public schools in Marion County, helping feed children from ages 4 to 19. Many staff members from Marion High School along with Friendship Baptist and other area churches, civic organizations, and volunteers help collect and pack bags with kid-friendly non-perishable food. Coupled with the financial support of businesses such as Dee Electric Co-Op, Anderson Brothers Bank, Marco Rural Water, EagleWing Tribute Band, the Eastern Carolina Community Foundation, Pee Dee Peanut Farmers, and Pee Dee Academy, Back Pack Buddies continues to bless many children and those who partner with us in the incredible ministry.
Members of Friendship Baptist Church show support and love to middle school students at Johnakin Middle in Marion and Palmetto Middle in Mullins, South Carolina each month of the school year. We recognize the difficulty some children face in school and see this mission as a way to let these children who may be marginalized in some way know that they are loved and prayed for by the giver. School supplies, toiletries, snacks and gift cards as are among the included items.
Have you ever wanted to help a homeless person but wasn’t sure how to go about it? Friendship Baptist provides necessities like toiletries, bottled water and bug repellent in ziplock bags, made available to our congregation to keep on hand in case the opportunity to show God’s love to a homeless person presents itself.
We believe strongly in the sanctity of life and consider it a blessing to partner in the this much needed ministry to seeks to love and support women and their babies as they navigate the joys and struggles of early motherhood offering a variety of services to mother and child. Each year, we look forward to joining the effort to share the love of Jesus with children around the world at Christmas. Friendship Baptist members make an event out of shopping for toys and other items to shipped to a needed boy or girl during the season of giving – in honor of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Difficult times have befallen us all at one time or another. At Friendship, being the hands and feet of Christ means that we strive to help meet the immediate or emergency needs of the people in our community with our love, our prayers, and, when needed, financially. Project Score was formed by our church to serve God in keeping with His command to love one another.
This is an ongoing ministry to help those in our community who are in an urgent crisis situation. It is sponsored by and distributed through the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. We provide urgent personal hygiene items, a clean T-shirt, and activities for young and small children who have been traumatized by the situation. We also provide essential items that the Detectives may need while on a scene for several hours. This ministry offers a way to meet the needs of the moment while showing the love of Jesus in a time when it is greatly needed.
If you’d like to support this ministry, click on the link below, and the items you purchase will be shipped directly to us. We will handle the packaging and distribution of the kits. Or, you may purchase and drop off at church.
This program is a yearly Christmas ministry sponsored by the South Carolina Baptist Association. We service prisons in South Carolina, providing essential items to help supplement what the prisoners are able to purchase in their general store, such as hygiene items. We also provide prison-approved writing implements to allow the prisoners to write letters to loved ones. The Baptist Association adds a small Bible to the packages.
Feel free to purchase items and drop off to Trina Boston at church, or go to Amazon registry: www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/21XD7YBBN1Y1N?ref
